Why can't I just use 6 mil or 10 mil Visqueen as my vapor barrier?
Visqueen is made from low grade resins and recycled materials. Most Visqueen, does not comply with a permeance rating of 0.10 or better, lacks the puncture resistance needed and most likely will deteriorate over time. It's a waste of time...Visqueen is made from low grade resins and recycled materials. It's a waste of time & money placing low-grade Visqueen under a slab expecting it to act as a vapor retarder.
