Health Product Declaration Collaborative Seeks to Standardize Reporting of Material Content and Hazards
SAN FRANCISCO - STEGO INDUSTRIES, LLC, the construction industry leader in below-slab vapor protection, is proud to announce the launch of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative, a pioneering new effort to standardize reporting of construction materials' contents and hazards.
Stego serves as a founding member of the HPD Pilot Program, which developed the standard by submitting its products, their contents, and hazards to 50 expert reviewers from across the building industry. The newly-formed HPD Collaborative will develop, maintain, and evolve the HPD Open Standard to ensure that the format continues to meet the needs of building users - designers, specifiers, building owners and occupants - for reporting building product and material contents and associated health information. To assist in the effort, Stego submitted materials and hazards associated with STEGO WRAP Vapor Barrier, the most specified vapor barrier in North America, and will continue to provide support to better serve the needs of the sustainable building industry.
The announcement comes at the outset of Greenbuild 2012 Convention and Expo in San Francisco, where Stego will proudly exhibit to the sustainable building community the benefits of below-slab vapor protections in making buildings thrive from higher indoor air quality and greater energy efficiency.
