Prior to conducting the installation of StegoCrawl Tape, StegoCrawl Term Bar or StegoCrawl Wrap, Stego Industries, LLC ("Stego") recommends that you fully review its installation instructions, published product literature and the most current version of ASTM E1643, as well as consult local building codes and regulations along with the building owner's representative before proceeding with any site-specific installation issues. If you have any questions regarding Stego's installation instructions, products or a site-specific situation, please call us at 877-464-7834 for technical assistance.
If you are incapable for any reason to complete the installation in accordance with the aforementioned standards, Stego advises you to consult with a professional installer.
Stego is involved in the research, design, development, production and distribution of the highest quality construction products in the industry. Stego's technical department offers technical assistance and additional information regarding the specific properties of all Stego products. Also, in order to assist in creating installation best practices, Stego will advise on issues related to utility versus cost. However, Stego does not employ design professionals. Therefore, Stego cannot interpret ASTM installation standards (E1643), or other similar standards, and must defer to the project's licensed design professional on all site-specific, final design decisions. While Stego employees and representatives may provide technical assistance regarding the utility of a specific installation practice or Stego product, they are not authorized to make final design decisions.
Although Stego engineered StegoCrawl Wrap and accessories to perform for many years when installed correctly, in order to maximize the utility of StegoCrawl on your project, Stego recommends you inspect all seams and perimeter edges once a year, and repair or reseal as necessary to maintain a monolithic membrane.
Stego tests its below-slab vapor barrier/retarder products in accordance with applicable ASTM International standards; notably ASTM E1745 - Standard Specification for Water Vapor Retarders Used in Contact with Soil or Granular Fill under Concrete Slabs, which identifies tests to be conducted on new materials and materials that have been conditioned or exposed to simulate potential service conditions. ASTM E 1745 requires that products be conditioned per Sections 81, 112, 123 and 134 of ASTM E154 - Standard Test Methods for Water Vapor Retarders Used in Contact with Earth Under Concrete Slabs, on Walls, or as Ground Cover.
