Learn how to install Drago Wrap and its accessories properly to protect your brownfield site from water vapor and harmful soil gases.
A new convenience store in Illinois required a vapor intrusion mitigation system designed to meet the State of Illinois’ 60-mil membrane requirements.
The project’s basis of design called for both a 60-mil membrane and spray-grade mastic, creating a need for a complete system capable of addressing the specified mitigation requirements while supporting a carefully detailed installation.
Drago Wrap 60-Mil Soil Gas Barrier was selected as the primary membrane to meet the state requirement, supported by Drago Mastic Spray Grade, Drago Mastic, and DragoSeal Tape to help maintain system continuity across seams, penetrations, and other critical details.

Because the design called for spray-applied mastic, the installation required specialized application equipment and experience. A contractor within the Drago Certified Installer network was selected with the specialized equipment and experience necessary to properly apply Drago Mastic Spray Grade and complete the specified installation procedures.

Following installation, smoke testing was also performed as part of the project’s inspection and verification process, with a representative of the environmental consulting design team on site. This provided an additional means of evaluating the completed mitigation system before subsequent construction proceeded.
By combining Drago Wrap 60-Mil Soil Gas Barrier with compatible detailing accessories and a qualified installation approach, the project team was able to address the project’s specific vapor intrusion mitigation requirements with an integrated Drago system.
