A new restaurant and entertainment development in Downers Grove, Illinois, required a reliable vapor intrusion mitigation solution to help protect the building and its occupants from potential soil contaminants. The project team selected Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier along with DragoSeal Tape to provide a high-performance barrier system beneath the slab.

Drago Wrap was recommended by an environmental consultant to address vapor intrusion concerns commonly associated with previously developed or environmentally impacted sites. Installed below the slab, Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier helps prevent harmful vapors that can migrate through the soil from entering occupied buildings.

Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier is a specialized vapor intrusion barrier designed for sites where contaminants such as hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) may be present. Through patented and trade-secret processes, Drago Wrap combines uniquely designed barrier materials with the flexibility and strength of a high-performance polyolefin film into a high-performing solution to transform brownfield sites into healthy built environments.

Seams and penetrations were sealed using DragoSeal Tape, a critical component of the Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier System. Designed with a solvent-resistant pressure-sensitive adhesive and the same barrier technology as Drago Wrap, DragoSeal Tape is engineered to help maintain system continuity and support a durable vapor intrusion mitigation installation.

By implementing a vapor intrusion barrier beneath the slab, the project team helped create a safer indoor environment while supporting long-term building performance.
