Learn how to install Drago Wrap and its accessories properly to protect your brownfield site from water vapor and harmful soil gases.
A Waste Transfer Station facility in Rhode Island required a below-slab vapor intrusion management system to help address site-specific vapor concerns. The project called for a barrier solution that could support long-term vapor mitigation performance while keeping installation aligned with the construction schedule.
Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier was selected as part of the project’s vapor intrusion protection strategy, and installed across the 10,000 sq ft slab area. Designed for contaminated sites, Drago Wrap helps project teams address potential exposure risks from volatile organic compounds, including perchloroethylene/tetrachloroethene (PCE), trichloroethylene (TCE), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and many others.
Installation and testing operations were coordinated with the construction manager to help support the overall construction schedule while Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier was placed and detailed at seams, penetrations, and terminations using DragoSeal Tape and Drago Mastic. Designed specifically for Drago Wrap applications, these engineered accessory products support a complete and continuous barrier system while giving the project team confidence across critical detailing areas.
After installation, smoke testing was performed to visually identify potential leaks and help confirm barrier integrity in accordance with industry standards and best practices. This quality control step helped verify that the installed barrier system was properly sealed before construction advanced.
With Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier in place, the project team addressed vapor intrusion concerns beneath a large waste transfer facility while keeping installation and testing aligned with the broader project schedule.
