Learn how to install Drago Wrap and its accessories properly to protect your brownfield site from water vapor and harmful soil gases.
During design for a new logistics warehouse in South-Central, U.S. engineers identified elevated soil gas contamination beneath the site. Several organic compounds were detected at shallow depths, with some exceeding local commercial and industrial indoor air standards. To prevent chemical vapors from migrating into the building and threatening the health of the future building occupants, the project required a high-performance vapor intrusion barrier.
After evaluation, the project engineer selected Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier to meet the site’s vapor intrusion protection requirements.
Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier was recommended as an effective chemically resistant barrier solution to support the project. Its low permeance will provide enhanced protection against vapor migration and help prevent harmful soil vapors from entering the occupied building.
For this project, seams and penetrations were sealed using DragoSeal Tape and DragoTack Tape, critical components of the system. These solvent-resistant accessories help maintain system continuity and support a durable, high-performance vapor intrusion mitigation installation.
Smoke testing was conducted to help ensure the system was properly sealed, providing additional confidence in long-term protection against vapor intrusion.
With a high-performance barrier system in place, the project team addressed moisture vapor and soil gas concerns—reinforcing long-term building reliability.
