Learn how to install Drago Wrap and its accessories properly to protect your brownfield site from water vapor and harmful soil gases.
During planning for a new 100,000 square foot retail facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the project team needed below-slab protection due to the site’s proximity to a landfill. Because of the potential for soil gas concerns, a full-coverage spray-applied soil gas barrier was originally specified by the architect.
As design and product evaluation progressed, the environmental engineers determined Drago Wrap Vapor Intrusion Barrier was the better option for the project’s below-slab conditions. The Drago system met the required performance needs for the site while offering consistent coverage, straightforward quality control, and a practical installation approach for a large retail footprint.
For this project, seams, penetrations, and terminations were detailed using DragoSeal Tape, DragoTack Tape, Drago Mastic, and Stego Term Bar to help maintain system continuity.
With a high-performance barrier and a complete system of sealing accessories in place, the project team achieved a consistent, reliable installation while meeting the performance demands of a site located near a landfill—delivering confidence in both constructability and long-term protection.
